What We Believe

At Clearnote, we stand in the historic Reformed Protestant tradition. The following statements summarize the core doctrines we believe and teach.

  1. All things were created by God and exist for His glory.

  2. There is only one true God, creator of heaven and earth, who eternally exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

  3. Jesus is the eternal Son of God, who was sent by the Father to redeem fallen man.

  4. The Bible is true, sufficient, and authoritative for faith and obedience.

  5. Every Man, except for Jesus, by his sinful nature and actions is guilty of death and eternal punishment.

  6. The gospel is the good news that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save sinners. Through His life, death, and resurrection, everyone who repents and trusts in Christ is forgiven, reconciled to God, and receives eternal life.

A fuller explanation can be found in the Westminster Confession of Faith, to which we subscribe. While it is not Scripture, we believe it faithfully summarizes the doctrines taught in the Bible.

A note on Baptism:

One thing that is unique about our church is our agreement not to divide over time and mode of baptism. Some of us baptize our babies while others wait until our children can profess faith. We have real convictions but don’t think this difference should break Christian fellowship. In every case, we believe baptism doesn’t save but points to the Savior who does.
